middle school
The middle school program is designed for rising 6th-8th grade boys and girls who want to elevate their track and field performance. As a preparatory program, our goal is to help young athletes develop a strong foundation that will set them up for success in high school and beyond.
We believe that all athletes, regardless of their future events, should build a base of solid running mechanics and speed development. We emphasize fundamentals, proper sprinting mechanics, and introduction to strength training to promote long-term development and resilience.
Regarding specific event focus, we will provide specialized coaching and training tailored to their chosen disciplines.
The middle school program runs three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) and is offered in three seasons: summer, fall, and winter.

After the indoor season is over, athletes will practice with their respective high school teams. We do, however, always welcome club members to come and practice at Lipscomb with the Lipscomb Academy team, especially if the athlete is not being coached in an event that they are expected to compete in. Practice location should be worked out between the athlete, and/or the athlete’s parents, and their high school coach.
